City carparks publish what they charge, not what you will pay. Working out the difference is left to the driver. We do it before you arrive.

The posted day maximum. The meter stops there, so the fourth half hour and every one after it is already paid for.
- Day and night maximums, so a long stay stops climbing when the posted cap says it does.
- Flat rates, at the carparks that charge one price for the whole visit and publish no half hour figure to multiply at all.
- Saturday and Sunday as separate weekend rates, and the carparks that charge one rate for the first few hours and a different one after that.
- Hours it does not open, which are not a price at all and are the one thing a total cannot tell you.
Evening rates, overnight caps, weekend columns and the hours a carpark simply does not open are all part of the same calculation. Every price you see is worked out for the window you searched.
