Where our data comes from

Everything on this site is built from open data. This page lists every source and the licence it is used under, because most of those licences ask for exactly that.

Street addresses

Addresses in Toronto come from the City of Toronto Open Data Portal. Addresses everywhere else in Southern Ontario come from Statistics Canada's Open Database of Addresses, which compiles the open data published by the municipalities and counties below. It is used under the Open Government Licence – Canada.

Changes were made: street names are rewritten into a single spelling so that addresses from different publishers can be searched together, and records without a house number or a coordinate are left out. Positions are otherwise the publisher's own.

ParkingNova is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of the publishers named on this page.

Car parks, maps and places

Municipal car park locations, capacity and accessible stalls come from the City of Toronto Open Data Portal: contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence - Toronto. Rates are compiled and checked by ParkingNova from the operator's published rates, not supplied by the Toronto Parking Authority.

Map tiles, place names and the addresses behind our fallback search come from OpenStreetMap contributors, used under the Open Database Licence.
